The Group comprises of three sections, Beaver Scouts aged 6 to 8 years of age, Cub Scouts aged 8 to 10.5 years of age and Scouts aged 10.5 to 14.

At age 14, the Scouts move onto Explorer Scouts, which are organised by Kyle and Carrick District. There is an Explorer Scout Unit, Phoenix ESU, that meets at Kingcase Church , also on Friday nights.

Each section has it's own leader team comprising of a Leader and a number of Assistant Leaders.

Each Leader and Assistant Leader has or is in the process of undertaking Leader Training as provided by the Scout Association which covers all aspects of working with young people and in providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law.
